Back in October 2014, Patrick and Cornelia Vicaire had an idea for Bobs Bar Kanturk to be a restaurant in Cork that was more than a place that served great food. Patrick and Cornelia wanted to give locals a place where they could escape from the stresses of everyday life, a place to eat, drink and relax.
Bobs Bar Kanturk is a family run restaurant where people can get fine dining in Cork at reasonable prices. This is somewhere that offers the option of casual or formal dining, a function room for larger parties, and an intimate bar for just a quiet drink. Offering a wide selection of wines, beers and whiskeys, homemade desserts and an extensive and varied menu, it caters for all. With live music on most Saturday evenings, and special menu offers midweek, this is somewhere that ticks all the boxes.

Patrick Vicaire, head chef and proprietor, was born in Belgium, but his formative years were spent living in the south of France, where Patrick learnt his trade. He gained experience working in several restaurants in France and the UK.
He eventually settled down in Kanturk and at this time was the head chef at the Riverside Restaurant, on Strand Street, when he met Cornelia. After two years he moved to Bobs Bar Kanturk on Percival Street and took over management in October 2014. Since then, the business has been growing from strength to strength and with an underpinning objective of giving customers a first class dining experience so that each person leaves with a feeling of well-being and satisfaction, it is no wonder why.
